PictureRoad Trip! Bean & Mufasa
UPDATE: 2/13/14 - Bean arrived at her furever home in Los Angeles today. She was driven there by her foster mom and foster bro Mufasa.

UPDATE: 2/1/14 - Paula, now known as Bean, has her home!

She is planning a road trip to Los Angeles later this month to move in with her forever family.

UPDATE: 1/19/14 - Our Paula is safe and in a foster home! She is available to adopt through St. Francis Protection Society!

Picture
Paula is a young Chiweenie (Chihuahua and Dachshund mix) who is at risk in the San Jose shelter.

She is a sweet lap dog who solicits attention and would love to become your devoted companion.

She would do best in a home without young children. Paula was not properly socialized around them and has not learned how to behave in a respectful manor towards young kids.

She needs a home who will commit to working on behavior modification with her as she tends to become nervous around strangers and territorial of her person.

Paula walks well on leash and enjoys trips to the dog park. The dog volunteers at the shelter say she is gentle, likes to cuddle and has a playful personality.

Help us save this little girl? We need a temporary or permanent home to get her out of the shelter. Fill out our foster application here.

Got Permanent Digs for Dino?

UPDATE: 1/12/14 - Hey everybody guess what!? After five months, I've packed my bags and I am finally leaving the shelter today and going into a home. Life is good!
Picture
Hi folks! I am Dino.

Any of you out there have one of those nasty winter colds for way too long?! I sure do!

If I could get out of this place, I'd shake this kitty cold in no time. I've been at the San Jose shelter since August so it's high time for me to bust out of here. I simply need a forever home, people to love me and a cozy place to recoup.

I think that would be a super situation for both of us because I am the favorite of shelter cat volunteers! This is due to my mellow Zen personality and affectionate demeanor. I like other cats, too (and I might even be okay with dogs). So, if you already have a feline family, I'll fit right in once I've kicked my cold.

I am young guy at 1.5 years old and am looking to get on with my life.

Got a permanent place for me to move into? Submit an application to the cool peeps at San Jose Animal Advocates - here. They'll answer questions about me too, just email them at info@sjanimaladvocates.org

Pete Needs a Pardon!

UPDATE: 1/8/14 - Pete has left the building! Pete went to a foster home today. He will soon be available to adopt through St. Francis Animal Protection Society.
Picture
Pete is tall, dark and handsome gentleman ready to sweep you off your feet. But - he needs your help to save his life.

Pete will be euthanized if a temporary or permanent home is not found in the next few days.

Pete enjoys going on walks and playing with other dogs. He is also content to relax on his bed or in the crate with a good bone.

He's a quick study on training, too: he already knows sit, down and is learning to shake and roll over. Since he is food motivated he'll be eager to pick up new tricks and it's a great way to bond with him.

Picture
We think he is part Great Dane and Labrador and about 1.5 years old.

Pete has a laid back vibe and is looking for a family to match.

Can you save his life? Fill out our foster application here.
