Lynette's Looking for a Home

10/29/2013

UPDATE: 11/1/13 - Lynette was adopted by a wonderful lady in San Jose and is doing great!
Picture
Lynette was succumbing to kennel stress in the San Jose shelter and deteriorating quickly. She was depressed and not eating which put her at risk of euthanasia.

Our wonderful friends at GEPDA stepped in and pulled Lynette from the shelter but they are in desperate need of a foster home for this sweet girl.

GEPDA rescues at risk dogs like Lynette and they have an affinity for the Rottie breed.

Lynette is shy around other dogs and very friendly with people. She was a favorite with the dog volunteers at the shelter.

If you can give Lynette a temporary or permanent home, please fill out our foster application here.

UPDATE: 11/1/2013 - Daisy was rescued today! She's on her way to recovery and is safe.
PictureDarlin' Daisy
We are naming this little cutie Daisy! She is a two year old Beagle and Dachshund mix.

She was abandoned in the middle of the night at the front door of the San Jose shelter.
Daisy is a cuddle bug and likes to climb in your lap. She is a shelter staff favorite because of her wonderful disposition. Even though she's not so sure of the camera, we were able to get some smiles out of her.

Although she moves around pretty well, her pelvis is fractured so she is not available to adopt. Daisy also has a conditioned called 'cherry eye' which will need to be repaired.

Unfortunately Daisy is at risk for euthanasia because the shelter is full.

Can you help save her by giving her a temporary or permanent home where she can heal? Her medical expenses will be covered by a sponsoring rescue organization. All Daisy needs from you is love and a quiet place to mend.

Fill out a foster application here. Email us for more information at [email protected].

PictureHelp find Pippi
Pippi was a shelter dog who was rescued from San Jose Animal Care Center. Pippi was too shy for adoption at the shelter so St. Francis APS located a foster home and saved her life.  In a tragic twist of fate, she is back on the streets.

On Thursday, October 17th at 10:30am, she got loose from her foster home in Willow Glen and is still missing. She has been seen in the Rose Garden area as well as the intersection of Meridian and Fruitdale.

PicturePippi has NO tail!
The community outreach to find this scared girl has been uplifting.

As friends of St. Franicis APS, we hope to widen the search for Pippi by asking you to help. Please 'like' her Facebook page at Find Pippi South Bay and share her with your social networks.

If you would like to help search for Pippi and/or post flyers, email us at [email protected].  If you spot Pippi, please DO NOT chase or try to trap her. She is timid, frightened and will flee which increases her chances of getting hurt. Please DO call (408) 637-1282 as soon as possible.

Pippi Facts:
  • NO Tail!
  • Mini Aussie Chi mix
  • Reddish brown
  • 14 lbs
  • Collar, yellow tag & microchipped

UPDATE: 10/29/2013 - These three little Chi's were rescued! They are now safe.
Three little Chi siblings at the San Jose shelter need your help!
Picture
Picture
The two brothers and one sister were being sold out of a shopping cart by a drunken homeless man. A good Samaritan concerned about their well being gave the man money and brought them to San Jose Animal Care Center.
Picture
Unfortunately these four month olds have demodectic mange which is not contagious but they are not available to adopt. Some medicated baths over time will have these guys ready for their forever home!

We are searching for a sponsoring rescue group who can save these tiny 3 to 4 lb puppies. They are a bit shy and scared in the shelter but are easily handled and appreciate the lap of a volunteer.

San Jose Animal Advocates can provide transport if needed. Please contact us for more information at [email protected]. Please help save this young family!
