Mollie & Oliver Need Your Help

UPDATE - 8/2/13: Turns out Mollie and Oliver will be leaving the shelter on the same day next week to different foster homes. As soon as they are over their kitty colds, they'll be ready for adoption with St. Francis Animal Protection Society.
UPDATE - 7/31/13: Miss Mollie is busting out of the shelter very soon. Stay tuned for updates on her recovery. We still need a temporary or permanent home for Oliver!
During kitten season when shelters are overcrowded, a simple kitty cold is a deadly disease. Our local shelters do not have the resources or space to care for too many sick cats. Cat volunteers at the San Jose shelter are sick with worry about the fate of two of their beloved felines.
Picture
Mollie is an older diluted tortoiseshell who has been at the shelter since May. Torties are known for their feisty 'tortitude' attitudes; NOT this girl! Miss Mollie is one of the sweetest and friendliest cats you'll ever meet.

Mollie has contracted a kitty cold for the second time. This means she is at high risk of euthanasia. Shelter stress can severely weaken a cat's immune system and make them prone to becoming ill. Once they are placed in a loving home, they recover fast! We hope Mollie gets this chance.

Oliver, like Mollie, is also sick for the second time. He is a beautiful Maine Coon mix who is about five years old. He has more cattitude about him and would be best as an only cat. He doesn't care to share his humans.

Mollie and Oliver are in danger of being put to sleep and we do not know how much time they have left. We need to find them permanent or foster homes immediately! Interested in saving a life? Please fill out our application here.

Hi there - I would like to be put on your list of people to call as a last resort for animals on death row where nobody else has stepped forward. I live in the Santa Cruz Mountains (and work in Mountain View) with bunnies and cats, but I have an above-ground basement where I have fostered animals. I have to use my basement because I cannot trust foster animals with the rest of my delicate animal family. I have not filled out a foster form yet. Please let me know if a live person has received this message. Thanks! Teri
