Update: 7/5/13 - Bear was rescued from the shelter this afternoon. He will spend his first night in a long time in a loving foster home! Stay tuned for further updates.
Big Bear Cub He's as big as a bear but much friendlier! Bear is a Sable Leonberger and Akita mix who is in desperate need of a temporary, or even better - a permanent home!

Striking a regal pose! Bear's people moved to a new location that does not allow large dogs. Weighing over 100 lbs, this was bad news for Bear. He was surrendered to the San Jose shelter.
He lived with children, a cat and a Chihuahua. Bear would always wait for the little Chihuahua to finish his dinner before Bear would eat his.
